The Roma people in the United States face deep-rooted discrimination, a form of racism known as antigypsyism. This impacts education, housing, healthcare, and employment, while negative stereotypes fuel exclusion. Although Romani communities have been part of U.S. history for centuries, their struggles remain largely invisible. Our mission is to raise awareness, advocate for equal rights, and ensure the Romani people are recognized as a minority group in America.
The Romani people in the United States face serious human rights violations caused by a deep-rooted form of racism. This leads to discrimination in housing, healthcare, education, and jobs, police profiling, negative media stereotypes, and exclusion from services further marginalize them. Despite a history in the U.S. for centuries the Romani struggle for recognition remains overlooked.
Human rights are universal and belong to all people simply because we exist. They are not granted by governments, but are inherent to every person, regardless of race, nationality, or religion. These rights include essentials like life and liberty, as well as access to food, education, work, and healthcare. Our goal is to ensure that Romani people are recognized as a minority group in the United States, equal to other protected groups.
Certification programs provide opportunities for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to compete more effectively. They give access to government and corporate contracts, help secure funding through grants and loans, and offer networking, mentorship, and increased visibility through national directories. These programs create pathways for minority-owned businesses to grow and succeed while addressing historic inequalities.
